Covering the midsection of the Northern American Continent, United States of America offers a wide range of options of tourist sites to make you enjoy your stay in The Land of Opportunities. Pack your bags, fasten your seatbelts and get ready for one great American adventure. Here s a list of where you could go in US.

1.) Statue of Liberty

France gave US more than just a gift of American Independence. The Statue of Liberty has now become a monumental sight that inspires not only US citizens but those tourists who happen to glance at this magnificent piece of art. Sadly, now you can t go inside the Statue anymore because of concerns that stems from 9/11 hijacking.

2.) The Grand Canyon

Head for Arizona and be intimidated by the sheer depth and heft of The Grand Canyon. Be humbled by its size, timelessness and tranquil atmosphere. Take on the Grand Canyon Challenge and explore the roads, trails and turbulent waters in this side of Colorado.

3.) Yosemite National Park

Yosemite National Park is one of the first wilderness parks developed in the United States. Located in Sierra Nevada in California, this park is recognized for its scenic waterfalls, crystal streams, majestic sequoias, granite cliff, and ecological diversity. Find your way past the 3.5 million tourists that visit the site every year.

4.) Glacier National Park

Traverse pristine wilderness and be amazed by the sheer force of nature by visiting Glacier National Park located at the northwest corner of Montana along the Rocky Mountains. With a wide variety of outdoor activities to choose from, both in water and in land, boredom only sets in when you re ready to go home. Enjoy camping, swimming, boating, skiing, hiking, and horseback riding while you enjoy the sun, the ice and water that helped much develop the park we know today.

5.) Central Park

This 843-acre patch of green in the midst of towering edifices of Manhattan is a sanctuary from the busy streets of New York. Visit Central Park and discover the Strawberry Fields, Jacqueline Kennedy Reservoir, daily performance in Delacorte Theatre, Concerts in the Great lawn, and more. Rent a carriage and discover the park on horse-drawn wheels.

6.) Mount Rushmore National Park

On the side of the Black Hills lies a majestic site that attracts some three million people a day. Bearing the faces of Presidents Washington Jefferson, Lincoln, and Roosevelt and measuring some 18-m in length, Mount Rushmore National Park is a site worthy of a visit. Come here and be struck with awe with the sheer expertise of the team that carved these faces from the walls of the mountain.

7.) Las Vegas

Live the life of a hotshot gambler for a night, and walk around the city not only to gamble but to admire the sheer beauty of this place. Feast your eyes out with high stakes, great atmosphere and beautiful people. Imposing casinos like the Excalibur Palace not only speaks of high rollers but of great architecture as well.

8.) Hawaii

Plunge right down Hawaii and be greeted with flower garlands and alohas. Be captivated by Hawaii s hospitality and innate beauty. Enjoy the sun while sitting down and relaxing in this worldly paradise.

9.) Arizona Meteor Crater

The sheer size of the crater commands awe from people who see it. Find guides to help you down the crater and tell you stories about space, meteors and intergalactic probabilities. Shops are also available nearby, selling pieces of the meteors, t-shirts, photographs, and other gift items.

10.) Niagara Falls

Be mesmerized by the thundering waters and mist sprays of Niagara Falls. Right in the border of Canada and New York, Niagara Falls remains a site for lovers, poets and adventurers to visit. Learn how this waterfall evolves from a military post, a trade center and into the top tourist destination by visiting its thunderous waters.

Today we would be entering a new world, although we were unaware of it at that moment. In our continuing search for new areas and places to offer our visitors, we had come across something spectacular. Today we were to visit the area concerned and see what the eastern slopes of Psiloritis had to offer.

Psiloritis, or Mount Ida, at 8057 feet (2,456 m, 35? 13 38.45? N, 24? 46 15.22″ E ) is the highest mountain in Crete, and is over 1000 metres higher than Ben Nevis. The great Cretan writer Nikos Kazantzakis made mention of it often and it is regarded by many Cretan people as a potent symbol of the island. Although disputed by the claims of the Dhiktean cave on the nearby Lassithi range, the cave of Idaion Andron is also reputed to be the birthplace of Zeus and the continent of Europe is named for Europa, one of his amorous conquests. A romantic interlude, which as any Cretan will tell you, happened on the south coast of the island. It is also notable as the location of the trek following the abduction of General Von Kreipe by Cretan resistance and Special Operations Executive during World War 2. The film of the events “Ill met by moonlight”, starring Dirk Bogarde, was based on the book by W.Stanley Moss (ISBN 0-304-35259-4).

The journey of 60km to the airport at Heraklion, we observe, is done on “autopilot”. Familiarity, sadly, breeds contempt or at the very least, indifference. The highlight, depending on wind conditions, is the drop through Selenari Gorge, where Griffon Vultures (Gyps fulvus) soar effortlessly on the thermals. Further along the route, the banana and potato vendors of Malia line the side of the same roads, which in summer, will be awash with football shirt clad youngsters and hungover party girls seeking out a “full English breakfast”.

Just past the airport turning we cut south on a new and impressive road, which takes us towards Archanes and Peza, the wine growing region to the south of the capital. We continue south to Agia Varvara and realise that we have sailed past our turning, although we see a spectacular rock monolith which we might otherwise have missed. After the usual questions (and lots of pointing and gestures) we take the road north towards our appointment with Ioannis. The road twisted upward on the eastern slopes of the mountain and we could not resist pulling over to see two tombs, hewn from the rock, on the roadside. As is often the case in Crete, there was no information about them whatsoever. I actually like this aspect of the island because almost nothing is put on a plate for you. If you are interested you have to seek out the information, which can, in turn, lead to other discoveries.

The village had a fabulous church, with a very modern chapel at the entrance. We drove through and asked again for directions at the kafeneion where I was taken to the balcony by the owner. He pointed to the hotel and told me how to get to it. After several attempts to go the short way, and several reversing operations down very small and narrow streets, we finally took the long way and found ourselves at the gate of the suites. Ioannis, the manager, made us most welcome and we were impressed by the standard of furnishing and facilities in such an ostensibly “non-tourist” area. There are only four suites, but with a wonderful pool and a spa centre, it is a perfect location for a relaxing holiday. It is also centrally located for exploring the island and ideally situated for seeing the major archaeological sites.

In the great tradition of Cretan “filoxenia”, we were, naturally, invited to join the family for a meal at the hotel taverna. The succulent roast pork, we were informed, had been cooked by the owner and it was served with traditional oven potatoes and a variety of vegetables, dips and salads, washed down with a local red which is bottled specifically for the hotel. Eagles and other birds of prey soared around the area and Ioannis was so familiar with them that he even had individual names for some. It was almost impossible to draw our eyes away from the incredible views across the plain to the distant mountains of the Dikti range, but the time had come to leave and make our way homeward. With simple directions from our host, we were back onto the main road in five minutes and on the outskirts of Heraklion in another ten.

With an area almost the same as England, Crete never fails to have yet another surprise around the next corner. What, I wonder, will next week bring?

Egypt is famous for its ancient civilization and some of the world s most famous monuments, including the Giza pyramid complex and the Great Sphinx. The southern city of Luxor contains numerous ancient artifacts, such as the Karnak Temple and the Valley of the Kings. Egypt has always been widely regarded as an important political and cultural nation of the Middle East.

Although no one knows for sure where the ancient Egyptians came from, the land has been important since the beginning of recorded history.

Visiting the country, one gets a feeling that Egypt has existed far longer than the four thousand years the experts claim! The civilization was far more advanced in it s earliest existence than it is today. The skill and know how that was required to build all the antiquities is still unknown at this point in time.

When visiting Egypt, a trip to the Cairo Museum must be included! Days could be spent touring the facility and all the priceless artifacts from the past, everything from the 5th dynasty thru the modern era are on display, including a floor dedicated to King Tut. Ramses 2, the Pharaoh believed to be in power during the exodus, along with his Queen, is well represented also, not only in the Cairo Museum, but at Memphis as well. Ramses 2, if alive today, would be known as a land developer, many of Egypt s finest temples and buildings were erected during his reign.

Many items are still in storage as there isn t time or room to categorize all of them. Taking that into account and realizing that many, many of the artifacts have been taken out of the country makes one realize how massive and wealthy this empire was in it s prime.

A gap year is defined as a 12 month period between school and higher education, which is usually spent working, travelling, or a combination of the two. A gap year will provide an opportunity for developing valuable skills, both socially and personally.

Deciding to take a gap year can be difficult. If you decide to travel, you may need to save up for a time first to finance the trip and arrange for money to be available while you re away. There are many ways to do this, but a credit card or international debit card are the most common. Also consider how you ll keep in contact with family and friends back home most countries have internet cafes and phonecards so you can se these, or you may decide to take a laptop and use wireless internet points which are usually available in hostels and guesthouses.

One of the biggest considerations for any gap-year student is insurance. Each country you visit will have its own hazards, so it s essential you plan your trip carefully and know exactly which dangers you could encounter. Be aware that some insurers may not cover for certain countries so it s worth doing a quote first, to get an idea of countries you will be covered for. A policy covering personal belongings and medical expenses is the bare minimum you should take out one which will reimburse you for cancelled flights or other modes of transport is also a good idea. If you plan on taking part in any sports on your trip, it s best to get personal accident cover added on too.

Most “gappers” travel alone, occasionally meeting up with pre-arranged travelling companions for parts of the journey. There are many websites dedicated to helping you find a companion, and it s always best if you can meet them beforehand, for safety s sake. When you are alone on your trip, observe some simple safety rules don t walk around on your own after dark, be cautious at ATM machines, don t wear expensive jewellery - leave it at home if you can - and keep an eye on your drinks when visiting a bar.

It s good practice to carry copies of important documents such as visas, passports and medical records in a different place to the originals. Give copies to family and friends before you leave, and even email them to yourself. Carry contact numbers and addresses for the British Embassies in each country you visit. Research local customs before you go, to make sure you won t run into any unnecessary trouble with the locals.

When packing for a gap year trip the key word is light . You ll be tempted to take along every little thing you think you may need, but in fact most things will be available for purchase along the way. A good rule of thumb is to take enough for the first month and stock up during that time. The most important things to pack are your passport and other documents, credit/debit cards or travellers cheques, change of clothes and suncream/insect repellent. Toiletries are available in handy travel-sized bottles so take a few of these with you, but refrain from taking razors and aerosols without checking with the airlines first. It may be easier to just buy some disposable razors in each country than trying to argue with an airline. If you re taking any electrical equipment with you it s a good idea to buy a worldwide travel adapter plug, which is lightweight and can be used in most countries.

Finally, before you go, see your doctor or pharmacist about vaccinations. Take a list of all the countries you plan to visit so they will be able to tell you if there are risks present, and how much treatment you ll need for the whole trip.

The best way to find cheap travel insurance for your Gap Year is to shop around online. While holiday insurance isn t mandatory, it s always wise to take out a policy. The one time you go on holiday without travel insurance could be the one time you need it.

India is land of variety. There is great variety in variety of aspects. The languages, lifestyles, religions, habits, geography, climates, cultures might be different but still they unite us into an invisible frame, the frame of Indianism. Diversity is there in every aspect of India, a land that encloses 1,222,559 sq. meters of land and is home to more than one billion people. As such stats imply, there ought to be diversity, but this does not always imply that there are differences. Rather, India is a land where in spite of so much of diversity, there is still unity. Be it the joining of hands for a mission or against it, Indians have always shows great unity.

There have also been instances where people have fought against each other for some reason or the other but such cases do break out in all countries, so India being a niche of such diversity can be excused for once!

India won t be India if not for this diversity. If India means Kanchivaram sadi then India also means Pashmina shawl. If India means extreme hot climate of the south India, then India also means the snow covered mountains of the north India. If India means the desert of Rajasthan then India also means the highest rainfall grounds of Assam!

Such diversity is also found in the school of minds, where one stands for the motion, another stands against it. This means an added advantage, because while one is looking at the positive aspects of a side, other is hunting for the counterpart negatives.

The diversity of India has a great edge over the plain unanimously joint countries! It might be speculated that is just another starry eyed optimist opinion, but then if we didn t differ wouldn t we be non-Indians?!

Have you ever dreamed about the perfect vacation? What does it look like?

Perhaps you are cuddled in front of a fireplace, eating popcorn, and talking with your family about the awesome time you all had on the slopes that day.

Or maybe you are lying on the beach with just the right amount of shade, sipping a drink that is just the right temperature, watching as your younger children build sand castles and your older children try to catch some waves with their surf boards.

The perfect vacation could be a myriad of scenarios. It just depends on who you are and what you want to experience.

But the perfect time to take that vacation is a little easier to pinpoint.

In order to choose the prefect time to take your perfect vacation here are a few questions to ask yourself:

Do we have a large enough travel budget to cover all the expenses of the trip as well as an emergency fund just in case?

Are our children old enough to enjoy the activities that we would do on this trip?

Do we have any special needs that would make any aspect of this trip difficult?

Which season would be most enjoyable for this trip?

Is this a trip we want to take with the whole family or just Mom and Dad?

If the children will not be going on the trip can acceptable arrangements be made for them so that they can enjoy their “vacation” too?

Do we have enough vacation time available to enjoy this trip?

The answers to these questions will help you to decide whether or not now is the perfect time for your perfect family vacation.

If you determine that it is not, then use the answers to start to plan ahead.

Soon you will be enjoying your perfect family vacation.

Why not experience a different kind of holiday and visit one of the friendliest and alluring destinations in the world. After shaking off its tag as playground for the rich, Jamaica has become more accessible to thanks in large to package deals and all inclusive hotels that are widely on offer.

Recently, Jamaica holidays have been very popular with people preferring to spend a little extra to spend a week or two in one of the nicest places in the world. If your idea of the perfect holiday consists of relaxing on white beaches with sun blazing down, then head to Riviera area, especially Montego Bay. With the resort full of lagoons and palms trees, it offers the ideal place to catch some rays. For the more adventurous holiday-maker, Cornwall Beach (don t worry, no similarities to our own version) offers water sports and Walter Fletcher Beach has more sheltered areas away from the surf so is fantastic for swimming.

Doctor s Cove Beach is the most popular spot there are clear blue waters and enough restaurants for all tastes. Away from the sea, there is the famous Bob Marley Experience where you can sit in the 68-seat theatre and watch a documentary on the reggae great life, as well as having the chance to buy memorabilia such as books, CD s and posters. It is clear that with such attractions as these Jamaica is really trying to compete with the cheap holidays that are widely available

Although Kingston is a place you should visit, many tourists choose to stay in other places due to the high levels of violence and crime in the capital. It is, however, somewhere worth visiting due to the atmosphere and buzz that the city generates.

With so much to do in Jamaica, what are you waiting for? There are many different types of holidays around, including adventure holidays, ski holidays and many more but they surely do not compare to the wonderful sights of Jamaica.

Holidays such as ski holidays and adventure holidays may be appealing but once you have seen the information on Jamaica holidays you will know where to go. Whilst it may not be counted in packages for cheap holidays, shop online and you find a great deal.

Morocco gained independence in 1956 and a year later the Royal Commission for Education Reform laid down the basic principals of post-independence Moroccan education. Developed during fifty years of colonial rule, the French educational model was adopted by the newly independent Moroccan state and reorganized to introduce a technical track in addition to a “modern” track and “original” track incorporated the traditions of Koranic-based education, emphasizing Islamic culture and civilization and using Arabic as the language of instruction.

The Ministry of National Education was established in 1959 to begin the task of training a native teaching corps to replace foreign teachers, build new schools and implement governmental education reforms.

Later Morocco faced a period of economic stagnation in the late 1990s due to extreme drought which placed a strain on its predominantly agricultural economy. Despite the economic difficulties during this period, Morocco achieved remarkable progress not only in building remarkable Morocco property, but also in developing its education system.

Enrolment in primary school increased from 52 percent to 92 percent, in the middle school level from 18 percent to 32 percent, and in secondary education from 6 percent to 15 percent during 1990-2004 years.

The formal education system in Morocco is however still facing many challenges today.
Although education was becoming more accessible and the gender gap was being reduced, Morocco had not witnessed the positive changes seen in Asia and Latin America, particularly in literacy rates and enrolments in secondary schools and universities.

The World Bank has said the quality of education in Morocco is falling behind other regions and needs urgent reform if it is to tackle unemployment. Internal inefficiency is high, as evidenced by high drop-out and repetition rates. Gender and geographical disparities still exist at all education levels. Morocco also faces a rapidly increasing demand for middle schools, as a result of increased access to primary education. With government spending on education already high at 6.6 percent of GDP, opportunities to expand the budget are limited.

In order to help to solve the problem, the World Bank s Board of Directors approved a US$80 million loan to support a Basic Education Reform Support Program, also known as PARSEM, in the Kingdom of Morocco.

PARSEM addresses these challenges by supporting Government efforts to boost the quality of basic education for all children ages six to fourteen in a financially sustainable manner. The actions to be supported by PARSEM are threefold:

1.	generalize access to basic education, to most school-age children by 2008

2. improve the quality of education through reducing dropout and repetition rates and improving students learning

3. build institutional capacity, reinforcing institutional capacity in association with the sector s decentralization process at the central, regional, provincial and local levels. The project falls in line with the Country Assistance Strategy (CAS) for Morocco which spells out education sector reform and decentralization as one of the key priorities for fighting poverty in the Kingdom.

World Bank together with Morocco government hope that PARSEM will increase access to basic education, improving educational quality, encourage stakeholder participation, ensure financial sustainability, and promote accountability in sector management.

Samanta Jay is a financier, researching property of different countries, especially Morocco property.

You can become a life traveler or you can just be born like one. Either way, you are going to have very interesting life. It doesn t really matter how did you became a traveler, as long as you travel now. Some of us were forced to travel with our parents and some of us have started traveling on our own. I think that the best traveling experiences are with friends, in teenagers years. Without parent control, alone on the road, it can t get any better.

Of course traveling is not all about pleasure. The enjoyable part comes often in the end, and the road which leads to the end can be very hard. But if you ask any traveler, everyone will tell you that it s worth it. Often trips can be dangerous or at least physically hard, so a traveler always has to be prepared for everything. Beside that, traveling is, in most cases, an enjoyable experience.

It all depends on a traveler how will he travel. Some real travelers do not even consider traveling on a plane or other similar transports because it kills the joy of traveling. A real trip should be excited, full of unusual things, different people, different places and unpredictable. But than again, we are not all the same. Some of them just like to travel comfortable and safe. They want to come at some place quickly, to see the most interesting things and than quickly travel back home.

Not all people are meant to be travelers, well, at least not travelers for life. Some people are just not into it, some can not be (because of illness), some of them won t and some of them can not afford it. Yes, for traveling you need money. Sometimes more sometimes less, but you need it. A good thing is that traveling can be very cheap, it depends what do you want and expect. If you are not into pleasant and quick traveling you can travel by a bicycle, walking or you can hitch hike. You will save a lot of money, and when it comes to sleeping you can always sleep in a sleeping bag or in some camp. With a little more money you can choose more ways of traveling that are best for you. You always have many options, it just depends what do you like better.

What ever you choose to do, you can t go wrong with traveling. It s always a great experience and I recommend it to all of you.
